The Pavilion is a 24-bed behavioral health facility located on the campus of Community Memorial Healthcenter (CMH) in South Hill, VA. As part of the vision of CMH to offer a full range of medical, surgical, and psychiatric services, the Pavilion offers a variety of services designed to help you enjoy life once again.

An estimated 44 million Americans experience a mental health disorder, but almost half of these individuals do not seek treatment (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2002; U.S. Surgeon General, 2001). Mental health disorders are common; they affect almost every family in America and they do not discriminate-they can affect anyone. There are more treatments, strategies, and community supports than ever before and people with mental health disorders lead active, productive lives. We are here to help you with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Alcohol Detoxification
  • Crisis Situations
  • Stress
  • Other issues

The Pavilion offers hope to those seeking professional, caring assistance for himself/herself or a loved one. Remember, the most important step in your life could be asking for help, and our trained professionals are here to answer.

The Pavilion has achieved full three year accreditation from The Joint Commission (JC) as a result of its demonstrated compliance with The Joint Commission's nationally recognized health care standards. Additionally, the Pavilion is licensed by the State of Virginia and accepts most major medical insurance coverage including Medicaid and Medicare.

Adult Inpatient Services

Even the simple tasks in life can sometimes seem too difficult. Overwhelming sadness, a feeling of hopelessness, even thoughts of suicide are all signals that you need to get help for yourself or a loved one. Perhaps the stress at work or at home suddenly seems unbearable and you begin to feel as if there is no one to turn to. At the Pavilion, we understand how life can suddenly change whether it is due to aging and medical problems, depression, anxiety, or pain. That is why we have designed treatment programs to help adults face life once again.

The Pavilion at CMH offers an acute adult psychiatric inpatient program, serving patients 18 years and older. Our committed team of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, and Mental Health Technicians work together to provide a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient that includes:

  • Short Term Acute Care Treatment in a Secure Facility
  • 24 Hour Behavioral Health Monitoring
  • Medication Management
  • Individual, Group and Family Therapy
  • Group Activities
  • Chemical Dependency Education
  • Coping Skills
  • Symptom Recognition and Management
