History

Founded in 1954, Community Memorial Healthcenter (CMH) is a nonprofit health care facility operated by a voluntary, elected Board of Directors. Planned and built by the people of Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties, CMH offers a full range of medical, surgical, and long term care services for residents of Southside Virginia and Northern North Carolina.

Our hospital is rooted in the vision and good work of the people of this region who wanted to have access to advanced healthcare closer to home.  While advances are made every day in medicine, that guiding principle remains today.  We are completely committed to delivering exceptional healthcare through the combination of people, process and technology.
